This seminar is focusing on the phrasing and subtle nuances as they are encountered in the playing style of the violin in Turkish music.
Necessary level for the participation to the seminar:
• Good knowledge level
• Medium knowledge level of modal systems
• Knowledge of music writing
• Instrument centered seminar (bowed instruments)
Senih Ündeğer, is a unique violinist with a wide range of experience in various musical idioms. He was initially trained in the Turkish classical system at the Istanbul Conservatory after which he then worked with some of the foremost artists of contemporary Turkish music. He subsequently spent some years in Berlin where he frequently collaborated with the late oud virtuoso Nuri Karademirli. He then came to Greece in the early 1980s where he married and has been a permanent resident ever since.
