Veka Aler Ι Vocal Repertoire of Anatolia

This seminar will focus mainly on a repertoire coming from different regions of Turkey as well as from Kurdistan, Azerbaijan and Persia.
Our aim is to study the different musical forms, makam, rhythms, patterns & vocal techniques of the above-mentioned music traditions.
Apart from the study of the repertoire during the seminar we will learn anatomically the mechanism of human sound production, and we will recognize, develop and strengthen the “instrument” in our body with practical and intensive exercises.
