1st Part: Yasamin Shahhosseini (Persian oud) & Bijan Chemirani (percussion)
“Music from Iran”
Yasamin Shahhosseini is one of Iran’s foremost virtuosi of the oud. In this recital, she will perform compositions and improvisations deriving from the traditional Persian Radif (modal repertoire). She will be accompanied by Bijan Chemirani, a Percussionist of French-Iranian origin who studied the Tombak with his illustrious father Djamchid Chemirani and subsequently developed a unique style of his own through his many collaborations with musicians of a wide variety of different traditions.
2nd part: Giorgos (violin) & Nikos Papaioannou (cello)
“Compositions of Giorgos & Nikos Papaioannou”
Giorgos and Nikos Papaioannou will perform a concert of their own compositions. As composers, they distinguish themselves through their unique and highly original sound as well as through the depth and delicacy of the compositions themselves.
