Type of seminar: Open - Instrument Centered (Turkish Oud)
Level of Participants: Basic-Intermediate
Scores are given, but it is not necessary to know music writing in order to participate.
The seminar is about the basic techniques as well as the stylistic aspects within the context of a very broad repertoire in which the oud has been, for many centuries now, an instrument of prime importance.
We will focus on the significant presence of the oud in nearly all of the major musical traditions of the Eastern Mediterranean and beyond, as well as on the various ways in which it can be utilized in these traditions (Greek, Arabic, Turkish, Armenian, folk, classical and religious music).
Seminars of all types include ten 3-hour courses and the timetable is defined in consultation with the teacher in the first lesson!
