Senih Ündeğer, is a unique violinist with a wide range of experience in various musical idioms. He was initially trained in the Turkish classical system at the Istanbul Conservatory after which he then worked with some of the foremost artists of contemporary Turkish music.
He subsequently spent some years in Berlin where he frequently collaborated with the late oud virtuoso Nuri Karademirli. He then came to Greece in the early 1980s where he married and has been a permanent resident ever since. He currently resides in Patras where he is very well known in the local music scene as well as being highly appreciated by musicians and music lovers throughout Greece, all of whom recognize his extraordinary ability and, in particular, his characteristic quality of sound. He will teach a seminar focusing on the phrasing and subtle nuances as they are encountered in the playing style of the violin in Turkish music.
