Born and raised in Syros, Vangelis Apostolou was involved in music from an early age, playing the electric guitar, where he got his first contact with sound engineering, with portable multi-channel recorders of that time. He had as well weekly broadcasts behind the console on radio stations. In 2003 he moved to Rethymnon for his studies in Music Technology and Acoustics at the Technological Educational Institution of Crete, during the last two years of his studies he was employed as a teaching assistant and in charge of operations in the University's recording studio.

In 2007, he settled in Athens for his internship at the Music and Acoustics Research Institute, in the field of digitization of analog recordings, noise reduction and mastering. At the same time, he began working as a sound engineer in recording studios such as IHOTRON studio, participating in artists' record productions and in productions for commercials, plays and films. At the same time, he worked as a freelance sound engineer covering audio-visual events and concerts.

Since 2010 he is based in Heraklion, Crete and maintains a stable collaboration with Studio Vasmaris as a sound engineer having participated in over 50 record productions of artists such as: Ross Daly, Giorgis Manolakis, Couleur Locale, Xylouris White, Kelly Thoma, Magnanimus Trio, Kostis Avyssinos . etc.

In the same year, he cooperated with the production company of film producers Jazzmovies Productions, providing sound engineering services during the filming, as well as sound design and video editing in the further processing.

A year later he began his collaboration with the audiovisual production company Indigo View for the television series "The Island" and the Incredible Crete campaign for the Region of Crete.

At the same time, from 2010 to 2012 he cooperates with some companies of sound and lighting coverage of events as a sound technician and undertakes as the head Sound Engineer for various musical events such as those held by the Labyrinth Music Workshop ( Houdetsi Festival, the Musical Fridays.

In January 2013 he worked on The Nile Project, a meeting of musicians from various countries in the Nile region, which took place at the Fekra Cultural Center in Aswan, Egypt. There he worked with BBC3 on the World Routes show presented and edited by Simon Broughton.

Since March 2017, he started his own business Kyma Sound Services & Record Productions www.kymasound.com. He covers audio-visual events as well as a "Mixing - Mastering" services under the company’s label.

As a FOH engineer he has collaborated with artists such as Ross Daly, Giorgos Xylouris "Psarogiorgis", Stelios Petrakis, Giorgis Manolakis, Maria Koti, Kostis Abyssinos, Vasilis Stavrakakis, Ahmet Erdoğdular, Ömer Erdoğdular, Yurdal Tokcan, Göksel Baktagir, Daud Khan Sadozai, Erkan Oğurkaki . Dimitris Koliakoudakis, Vasilis Rakopoulos, Trio Daulute, Zacharias Spyridakis, Michalis Kontaxakis, Giorgos Mavromanolakis, Korina Legakis, The Bellevilles, Your Hand In Mine, Locomondo, etc.
